Canary Wharf in London, the venue of the ALDE Party Congress
The ALDE Party's Associate members elected their two delegates to the ALDE Party Congress in London. Athena Drakou, a Greek national living in the United Kingdom and Miguel Duarte from Portugal received most support. This year, two Associate members could be elected, as earlier this summer the number of Associate members crossed the barrier of 500 members that are signed up to the ALDE Party.
Drakou and Duarte will have the right to take part in the meetings of the Congress and to voice their opinion. After consulation with the Associate members, they can also submit amendments to the draft manifesto for the European elections that will be discussed in London. Drakou and Duarte will lead the discussions among Associate members.
Eleven Associate members participated in the elections. The full results are below.
Turnout: 281 (72.4%) of 388 electors voted in this ballot.
